The Impact of Madden - Julian Oscillation and Sea Surface Temperature Process Interaction on Rainfall Variability During Rainy Season: A Case Study in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia

Most studies of the impact sea surface temperature (SST) have explored rainfall in a part Indonesia. This paper takes different approach and explores air-sea coupling interaction between Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) SST on variability East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). study uses daily observation from some NTT seasonal zone (ZOM) 1991to 2016. Meanwhile, gridded data around was obtained Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). For amplitude MJO, downloaded Bureau Meteorology (BOM)’s website. used statistical conditional probability gamma correlation to identify MJO-SST NTT. The results this showed that during rainy seasons MJO located phase 5, they are still high appearing most regions, even though is cooling condition. evidence shows result provides insights into adequacy caused almost regions all
